James E. Magee is the managing partner of The Magee Law Firm. He received his law degree in 1974 from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Mr. Magee is a 1971 cum laude graduate of the University of Rhode Island. Prior to forming The Magee Law Firm with his wife in 2003, Mr. Magee served for 18 years as the managing partner of the Washington, D.C. branch office of a New York City law firm.

Mr. Magee’s practice continues to focus on federal and state regulatory issues affecting the motor vehicle, telecommunications, and energy industries. In addition, he regularly advises corporate clients on Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) matters. Mr. Magee has extensive experience in the defense of products liability civil lawsuits brought against manufacturers and distributors. He also advises clients on corporate matters including commercial civil litigation, mergers, acquisitions and senior level executive employment agreements.

Mr. Magee is admitted to practice law in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is also admitted but currently inactive in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
